    1. Recent Events
      1. Elmcor continues to provide valuable drug prevention workshops for our fifth-grade students.
      2. All state and city assessments have been completed. Families will soon receive their child’s reports for Acadience, NWEA MAP Growth, and iReady assessments.
      3. This week, our second-grade families participated in a hands-on garden workshop with the Hort team. First-grade families had it today.

      5. Students enjoyed a live performance by the NYPD Band earlier this week. Thank you to Ms. Donnarumma for organizing this event.
      6. Our fifth-grade students celebrated the end of the school year with a trip to Laser Bounce. They will also participate in a yearbook signing breakfast on Monday, June 23rd.  Last day of school is Thursday, June 26th.
    2. The NYCPS calendar for the 2025–2026 school year has been updated.
      1. Meet the Teacher Night has been rescheduled from Thursday, September 11th to Wednesday, September 17th. These conferences will be held in person.
      2. Additionally, schools will be closed on Friday, January 2nd, 2026.
      3. We want to inform you that the first virtual Parent-Teacher Conference—where you meet with your child’s teacher to discuss report card grades—has been moved from November 6th to December 4th. This change was made in collaboration with our teachers, who strongly agreed that having additional instructional time will allow them to provide a more accurate picture of your child’s progress. By December, teachers will have gathered more data and classroom observations, which means they can offer clearer, more meaningful feedback and report card grades. Report cards will not be available in November. We understand that schedule changes can raise questions, and I’m here tonight to answer any concerns you may have about this update.
    3. Safety
      1. The assessment of the fire alarm system is still ongoing. The team is currently awaiting a replacement part to repair the relay. In the meantime, fire watch personnel will continue to monitor the second and third floors to ensure safety.
      2. Lead testing has been completed, and all results showed low levels. Faucets in the previously affected rooms have been reopened.
    4. He then thanked parents and staff for all their support all year . There was a question regarding the school yard water fountain. Mr. Daliposki was told it needs to be dug up and fixed. He encouraged parents to reach out to the Council members regarding the water fountain.

  7. SLT Elections
    1. Carmen said that our main business today is the SLT election. We need to fill out 4 seats. We sent flyers home that explained what a School Leadership Team is. They meet every 3rd Monday of each month. Ms. Cohen elaborated that SLT is team, that includes Administrators, Teachers, Family members, and representatives from School Aids and Representative from After School. They meet to discuss school updates and new decisions, for example the school website and school doorbell. All were discussed during SLT meetings. The meetings are in the school library and anyone is welcome to join virtually, even if they are not members.
    2. Carmen introduced the PTA members and said we all decided to stay as members for the upcoming school year. She encouraged everyone to be an active member of the PTA and emphasized that every parent is automatically a member. Ms. Becco expressed appreciation for the current PTA board. She then suggested expanding and inviting parents to be members at large, so the current 4 board members don't do all the work. For example, she said Movie night can have a parent volunteer to help out with some of the tasks. The parents don’t need to be at school all the time. She encouraged the parents to reach out in September if they have a couple of hours or days here and there in which they can help out.
    3. Carmen then introduced the parents who are running for the SLT seats:  Connie Lem has been in the SLT for 2 years and would like to continue and Karina Amaguana as a new member. No one was running against them so both parents were approved for the SLT.
    4. Carmen thanked Ms. Becco, Mr. Daliposki, Ms. Cohen, Ms. Dentrone, Staff, Volunteers and the whole school community for a wonderful school year.
  8. Meeting adjourned at 6:57pm.
