  • Review/Approve November SLT Minutes
      1. Will be approved at January meeting since we do not meet quorum for in-person attendance
  • Principal’s Report
  • Events: 
        1. Art performances started today and will last for this week. 
        2. We hosted an in-person and virtual kindergarten Open House. About 25 parents attended these events. 
        3. On 12/4, we hosted our Parent Teacher Conferences. 87% of families attended the meeting. 
        4. We held many parent events: Cooking Matters, Parent Holiday Craft 
        5. FDNY First Safety K-5 happened on 12/11 and 12/12
        6. In collaboration with the PTA, we are hosting our 1st multicultural potluck from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Many families have contributed food and posters representing the diverse school community. Thank you to all those families, students, and staff. 
        7. December Charter Champion will be on 12/23. 
        8. Schools are closed for Winter Recess from 12/24 - 1/4.
        9. Musical IQ is scheduled for January 
  • Small Class Size: 
        1. Application for class size was submitted for the 26-27 school year. No new information at this time. 
        2. Clubs and Saturday Program will begin in January. Permission slips will go out after the Winter Recess. 
  • Disney: 
        1. Interest forms are due by this Friday. The first meeting, which is called Intro to Musical Theater Workshops Part One and Two are scheduled for January 6th and January 7th. Permission slips will be going home on Monday for all students that showed interest to audition.   
  • UFT Report - Ms. Barone
      1. Nothing to report
  • PTA Report
      1. Ballet lesson successful on Wednesday, 12/10
      2. Looking forward to multicultural potluck on Wednesday, 12/17
      3. Hybrid PTA meeting next Tuesday 12/23 at 8:30 AM
      4. Finished Ms. Chocolate sales - orders will arrive this Thursday 12/18 and will be sent home 12/19. We were very close to our goal of $5,000
      5. January events: Martial arts lesson on 1/13 at 5:30
      6. Happy Holidays from the PTA!
  • Sunnyside Report
      1. Hosted a Parent Workshop with Ms. Khan-Torres focused on financial literacy
      2. Last week hosted a STEM program with three classes
      3. Mobile library cancelled - will be rescheduled
      4. Art/STEM gallery on 12/16
      5. Visit from DYCD on 12/17
      6. Advisory meeting on 12/18
      7. Winter showcase on 12/19
      8. Holiday camp 12/29-12/30 only
      9. We are being honored at a gala on Friday 12/19 for one of the highest rated DYCD programs
      10. Q&A: Why so few days during this break? (SK) 
        1. BM: This is the break with the lowest attendance, and most families that have off
