  • Review/Approve September SLT Minutes
      1. Motion to approve by Ms. Loftus
        1. Revise with meeting adjournment time of 6:30 PM

  • Review 2025-2026 SLT Bylaws
      1. Changed times in Article III section 1 to 4:30 - 6:30 PM
      2. Changed cutoff time in Article III section 4 for late arrivals to 4:45 PM

  • Principal’s Report
      1. Charter Champion: This Thursday, we are celebrating our Charter Champions for the month of September and October. Congratulations to all those students. 
      2. Events: 
        1. Our partnerships with City Harvest, The Hort Gardening, and CAPP mandated workshops have kept our school community busy for the month of November. Students are planting, students are cooking (tacos, sushi, etc). 
        2. Our 5th grade students attended a walking trip to IS 125. Thank you to Principal Borelli and their staff for their hospitality. We are exposing our students to what NYC has to offer. Trips are being organized to NYC Transit Museum, Green Meadows Farm, A Sprinkle of Fun (art), DOT Traffic Safety, FDNY Fire Safety, Queensborough Arts on Stage, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and many more to come. 
        3. Schools were closed on November 4th for Election Day, November 11th for Veterans’ Day, and November 27th and 28th for Thanksgiving Recess. 
        4. Our Annual Holiday Potluck, collaboration with the PTA, is scheduled for December 10th.
        5. Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, December 4th rather than November 6th. That will be a ½ day for all students. November 6th will be a full-day for students. Families were already notified. 
        6. This week is our second spirit week for the month. 
  • Safety
        1. We have completed all 8 mandatory drills for the 25-26 school year.
  • Parent Concerns: 
        1. Crossing Guard - they are back.
  • Budget: 
        1. Unfortunately, we are down 12 students from our projected numbers. Currently, we have to pay back $254,000

        1. Bus Service Disruption
  • Q&A:
        1. How many students do we have? - Ms. Gonzalez
          1. 454 total, and all but two classes are in compliance with the NYS Class Size Law required by 2028  - Mr. Daliposki
        2. How will the bus service disruption impact attendance? Who will pay for ride share? - Ms. Morales

        3. Will the STEM Fair be back this year? - Ms. Morales
          1. We don’t have the date yet for the district fair, but we will schedule it once we confirm the date - Mr. Daliposki
        4. How have the phone pouches worked out? - Ms. Morales
          1. So far no issues - students and staff are in the routine - Mr. Daliposki
          2. Students sometimes forget to unlock pouches and come back after, otherwise no issues - Ms. Allie
  • UFT Report
      1. No updates to report - Ms. Bruno
  • PTA Report
      1. New SLT member elected at last meeting - Ms. McCarthy
      2. First event of the year was the bachata dance lesson last week - the facilitator was excellent and parents enjoyed it!
      3. PTA general membership meeting is scheduled for 10/30 at 8:30 AM
      4. November 13th will be movie night - Elio
      5. November 17th will be picture day - flyers were placed in the mailboxes today and should be sent home this week
      6. Planning other projects and fundraisers, such as Ms. Chocolate - more information to follow

      7. November 19th - Virtual PTA meeting
      8. The NED yo-yo sale is still going on - not a fundraiser, but still selling until Friday 10/31

        1. For virtual we will hire interpreters, for in person we will use PTA volunteers - Ms. Gonzalez
        1. How will interpretation be handled at PTA meetings? Suggestion to plan simultaneous interpretation to make the meetings go faster - Ms. Morales
  • Sunnyside Report
      1. Lights on After School took place last week - two classes danced under the 7 train with other Sunnyside students from other DYCD programs
      2. NYC Power Authority is conducting a workshop and giving out energy saving kits on November 6th
      3. November 4th - There will be no holiday camp on election day
      4. November 11th - Sunnyside is hosting a holiday camp
      5. November 13th - Young author book give-away and mindful reading event
      6. November 19th - Bring Your Father Figure to after school day
        1. Parents voted for competitive sports and water color painting

      1. The goals we are setting for CEP must be aligned with the district goals
