Week in Review at PS 199Q
1/9/2023
FitzGerald Falcons!
We completed the first successful first week of the new year! I wish all families a Happy and Healthy New Year!
We know returning from vacation can be difficult for students and parents to get back into the morning routine. However, you must develop a routine for your child(ren) to be at school by 8:10 a.m. Doors will continue to open at 8:10 a.m. and close by 8:15 a.m. If the doors are closed, you must report to the main entrance, where your child will receive a late pass.
Important News!
- The Department of Education has begun Kindergarten registration for children born in 2018 for the 2023-2024 school year. The application deadline is Friday, January 20, 2023. All families who apply by the deadline will receive a kindergarten offer in April.
You may use one of the following ways to apply:
- Online at MySchools
- Over the phone by calling 718-935-2009
- In-person at a Family Welcome Center located at Queens Plaza North Family Welcome Center, 28-11 Queens Plaza North, 3rd Floor, Flushing, NY 11345
- EVERY DAY COUNTS! On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, we held an “Attendance Rally” to share information on how students can improve their attendance. We aim to lower our chronic absenteeism and reach 94% attendance for the 2022-2023 school year. Help us support our daily attendance cheer - “EVERY DAY COUNTS!”
